Instructions for a game based on petanque (boules) and the popular board game, Battleships.
The theatre of play is set up as follows:
Paper measuring approximately 1.5m x 1.5m is laid on the floor. A step ladder is placed at either edge alongside the paper. This is so that a person may climb the step ladder and be sufficiently safe to drop ink onto the paper surface from height. The aim of the game is to record the closest drop of ink to the jack (ping pong ball).
Games are played successively on the same piece of paper until it is no linger possible to decide a winner due to the amount of ink on the paper.
1. Divide into 2 equal teams, taking into account the average arm span of each group of
players
2. One team is given one colour of ink, the other team the other ink
3. The Jack (ping pong ball) must be set at the start of each round by each team alternately
4. One at a time the members of Team A climb the ladder and blindfolded drop 5 droplets
of ink onto the paper, aiming for the Jack
5. Team B repeats
6. The game leader decides the nearest drop using the tape measure
